Lesson 1

How to Work Together

Welcome to online drama classes! Let's get familiar with how we are going to use Zoom to create our performances and get physical by playing interactive acting games. Then let's pair up in Zoom rooms to create a scene!

Lesson 2: 

How to Act on Film

Performing on film or video is quite different to stage acting. Let's work on modifying our style of performing without compromising character and their stories. 

Lesson 3:

Monologues and Duologues

Let's focus on understanding the styles of partnered and individual performances. What impact do they have on a audience and how will they be rehearsed and performed differently to a group performance? Let's partner up and begin rehearsals!

Lesson 4: 

Rehearsals Begin 

Let's get warmed up and ready to rehearse! It's time to make some decisions for character voice and movement. Students will also begin to work out ideas for how to seem like they are in the same room for the performance.

Lesson 1

Shipwrecked!

Let's get to know each other with fun interactive drama games before acting out our opening scene of getting shipwrecked on a desert island! We will learn all about the importance of using our bodies and voices in drama.

Lesson 2: 

Where are We?

Using a song and a poem we will sing and dance and bring life to our Desert Island. Who / what lives there, what kind of landscapes are there? Let's build this world together.

Lesson 3:

Who Am I? 

This lesson is focused on creating our own characters. What do they look like? How do they walk and how do they speak? What motivates them / what do they want? Let's decide if you are a good guy or a bad guy!

Lesson 4: 

Emotions and Emphasis

Nobody like to sound like a robot so in this session we will be focusing on adding emotions and depth to our characters and learning about the importance of emphasis.

Mandarin Drama with Nico

Lesson 1

Greetings

Welcome to the online Mandarin Class! Let's learn to introduce ourselves, greet each other and boost our vocab by playing some drama games in Mandarin.

Lesson 2: 

Senses, Feelings and Emotions

There are a lot of emotions we experience on a daily basis and it is important that we are able to express how we feel. Let's express some basic emotions in Mandarin.

Lesson 3:

Numbers and Shapes

Another lesson based on boosting vocabulary, let's remember how to count and describe shapes of objects through playing theatre games.

Lesson 4: 

Actions and Verbs

It's time to get moving! Let's learn about action and verbs as we use our bodies in these physical drama games.  

Cantonese Drama with Alice: Lesson 1

How to Work Together

Welcome to online Cantonese Drama classes! Let's get to know each other and build some confidence through some songs and drama games in Cantonese. 

Lesson 2: 

Everyday Life

Let's build our basic Cantonese vocabulary that is used in everyday life. How well do we know our numbers, colours and shapes? Let's put our knowledge to the test by playing asking questions and communicating in sentences. 

Lesson 3:

Time to Shop

By being in the supermarket through role play, we will build vocabulary for a variety of food and everyday items. Let's add some drama by adding complicated characters who like to cause trouble!

Lesson 4: 

Story Illustration 

Using graphics from stories students will take turns to develop a unique story using the spoken word only. Let's recreate the scene as a frozen image as if it was used in a book.
